How soon can I get back to sports activities after my hair transplant procedure?

In this episode of Kensington Hair Clinic Insights with London hair transplant specialist Trevor Burnham we let you know how soon can you get back to gym activities and sports after your hair transplant procedure.

With activities and sports after a hair transplant procedure most clinics would recommend a period of two weeks. However this could be extended to three, possibly four depending on the type of activities that you do . In terms of going back to the gym we’d recommend light activities, so lifting light weights light cardio.

If you intend on any strenuous activity like lifting heavy weights or extremely tough cardio work then figure out a period of around 3 to 4 weeks before you can go back to that. What we are concerned about is the blood supply to the graphs after the procedure. If you were to go back to physical activity too soon the blood supply to those grafts could be compromised, the blood would be diverted to other parts of the the body and muscles to perform the these physical activities. This would take away from the grafts that are struggling for blood supply. So just remember be a little bit cautious with your sports and gym activities after your hair transplant procedure.
